South Beach, along with a handful of other neighborhoods, is one of the few places where a car-free lifestyle is commonplace. Many South Beach residents get around by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, bus or taxi, as the neighborhood is very cheerfully urban, and pedestrian-friendly. We recommend using this great public transportation—or enjoy walking—leaving your car safely parked at Ocean Five Hotel. Recently, Miami Beach has begun bicycle initiatives promoting city-wide bike parking and bike lanes, that have made bicycling much more popular for residents and tourists. Public Transportation in South Beach, is heavily used, and is a vital part of South Beach life. Although South Beach has no direct Metrorail stations, numerous Metrobus lines (operated by Miami-Dade Transit), connect to Downtown Miami and Metrorail (ie: the ‘S’ bus line). The ‘South Beach Local’ or ‘SBL,’ one of the most heavily-used lines in Miami, connects all major points of South Beach to other major bus lines in the city.
The Airport-Beach Express (Route 150), operated by MDT, is a direct-service bus line that connects Miami International Airport to major points in South Beach. Cost: $2.35 Every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.

This free museum gives guided tours of the Art Deco District. Run by the Miami Design Preservation League, a non-profit organization, the Art Deco Museum is devoted to preserving and promoting the Art Deco Historic District.
Miami’s most progressive art museum. The museum has an outdoor sculpture terrace, a café, courtyard, and museum shop. The permanent collection includes European paintings from the 15th to early 20th centuries including painters such as Bol, Flinck, and Rubens.

A great area with a unique vibe and fun-filled atmosphere, Espanola Way draws visitors from all over the world.
Reporting over 230 years of Jewish heritage in Florida, this museum presents a look at the Jewish religion through films, exhibits, and lectures. The museum is housed in a former synagogue.
Known as the “Fifth Avenue of the South,” Lincoln Road is a pedestrian shopping mall with many shops, restaurants, and bars lining both sides of the street.
Just minutes from South Beach, this highly regarded landmark golf course was restored in 2002. Designed by world renowned architect Arthur Hills, the Miami Beach Golf Course is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay and is close to world- class restaurants and attractions.
The beach has a palm-shaded grassy area and is near sidewalk cafes and fast-food restaurants. There are lifeguard towers, food concessions, beach chair and umbrella rentals, tables and chairs for picnics, and shower facilities. This beach is large and busy with fine sand and shallow surf.
South Beach is world-famous for people-watching with many sidewalk cafes, shopping, and nightlife nearby. This beach is not for surfing.

Miami Beach Golf Club- Alton Road and W 23rd St – This is an 18-hole public course, 6813 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 131 and a 73.1 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill levels. Always a favorite with our returning guests.
